We provide professional hedge trimmer sharpening for both heavy-duty commercial trimmers used by gardeners and contractors, and smaller domestic trimmers used in private gardens. Based in Bomere Heath, Shropshire, we serve customers locally and within about 10 miles of the county border.
A sharp hedge trimmer cuts cleanly, reducing strain on the motor and operator.
Cleaner cuts help plants heal faster, reducing the risk of disease in hedges.
Dull blades tear and crush stems, leaving untidy results and shortening machine life.
Due to their size and weight, hedge trimmers are awkward to ship. We work by appointment at our Shropshire workshop or via drop-off with local collection points for regular customers. Call us
Most hedge trimmer blades are difficult and time-consuming to sharpen with files or hand tools. Our workshop uses a precision very high speed two-inch air angle grinder, the type found in tool rooms, to restore blades quickly and accurately. This method ensures:
Even bevels across the cutting edge
Clean, razor-sharp results
Minimal material removal, extending blade life
We serve customers throughout Shropshire and within roughly 10 miles of the county border further of course if you wish to travel, including:

We can only work on the blades.

Can you repair badly damaged blades?
If there’s significant, heavy wire damage to the edges, it may not be possible to remove it, but the rest of the cutters will still be 100% effective.
Hedge trimmers are priced according to the number of cutting edges to be refinished. They vary by length and whether they are single or double-sided; further, they can be single or double-acting. Single-sided is obvious; most are, in fact, double-sided. A single-acting cutter has just one set of sharpenable edges per side, the other side being a plain piece for the sharp blade to cut against. A double-acting cutter has two opposed sharp cutting edges— thus having 2x the edges to be sharpened.
Here is a single acting cutter note one side has a spade like structure that’s not sharp opposite is the cutter ready to sharpen, there are two such assemebled opposite to each other, it’s effectivly a two sided cutter but with half the teeth. Requiring less power these are typically domestic machines
Single sided single action up to 530mm bar £10
Single sided single action over 530mm bar £15
Double sided single action up to 530mm bar £20
Double Sided Single action over 530mm £30
A true two sided cuttter with opposing sharp edges reciprocating back and forth, these require more power and are seen more in the hands of professional end by user. They are also usually longer
Single sided double action up to 530mm bar £15
Double sided double action up to 530mm bar £25
Single sided double action more than 530mm bar £25
Double sided double action up to 530mm bar £30
Double sided double action more than 530mm bar £40
