Mobile Sharpening As It Is Today - Precise and Electric
Certified Sharpeners have an extensive set of machinery in our workshop that handles all manner of sharpening work but it’s pretty much made to use on the bench and is usually integrated with other items for testing and maximising the outcome for the client.
In order to research the possibility of a set of options for a truly mobile piece of knife sharpening equipment , we visited the recognised experts - The Cutlery & Allied Trades Research Association – or CATRA. They are global leaders in sharpening technologies and test equipment to asses edge sharpness, we consider it’s best to deal with established objective in these matters.
We want to offer a truly professional mobile knife sharpening service right across Shropshire to catering, restaurants, pubs, cafe’s, food preparation and allied trades plus of course the enthusiastic foodies who use knives in the kitchen each and every day right across the county.
We now have a CATRA designed and built machine which is capable of such duties
Correct Sharpening a knife offers several economic advantages to Catering and associated food trades
Extended Lifespan: Regular sharpening prolongs the lifespan of knives by preventing premature dulling and wear. This reduces the frequency of replacing knives, saving money in the long run.
Increased Efficiency: Sharp knives require less force and effort to cut, resulting in faster and more efficient food preparation. This can lead to time savings in commercial kitchens, allowing chefs to handle more orders without sacrificing quality.
Reduced Food Waste: A sharp knife produces cleaner cuts, minimizing food waste by preventing crushing or tearing of ingredients. This is especially important for delicate items like fruits, vegetables, and meats, where precise cuts preserve the integrity of the food and maximize yield.
Safety Benefits: Sharp knives are safer to use than dull ones because they require less force and are less likely to slip. This reduces the risk of accidents and injuries in professional kitchens, potentially saving on medical costs and liability expenses.
Professional Image: Maintaining sharp knives reflects positively on the professionalism and quality standards of a culinary establishment. It can enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty, leading to repeat business and positive word-of-mouth referrals.
Overall, investing in our sharpening of your knives, particulalrly on a frequently planned basis not only improves efficiency and safety but also yields long-term cost savings and enhances the overall performance of a food-related business.
